In all the years that I have painted, I have always--always!--wanted to paint lilacs. This is the first time I have succeeded, I have no idea why.This was done at the end of my day, after I'd struggled and struggled to paint a larger version of another lilac arrangement. I sat down and painted this one in fifteen minutes. Go figure.

It's very fresh and beautiful!
I read somewhere (on Fine Art Views emailed newsletter I think) that working fast on something really releases you to creativity. I think it must be true.
